Lauv's "The Other,"

When I first heard Lauv's "The Other," it was like someone had taken my inner conflict and turned it into a song.

The line, “When there’s nothing quite wrong, but it don’t feel right either your head or your heart, you set the other on fire,” hit me like a ton of bricks.

It perfectly described the emotional whirlwind I was going through. There wasn’t anything clearly wrong in my life or my relationships at the time, but something just felt off, and I couldn’t figure it out.

I’ve been in that place where my head and heart were constantly at war. You try to convince yourself that everything is fine, that you should be happy with what you have. But deep down, something just doesn’t sit right, and you’re left feeling like you’re burning yourself out trying to figure out what’s missing.

That’s exactly what I felt when listening to this song. Lauv captures that emotional tug-of-war, where no matter which side you lean toward, you end up hurting one part of yourself.
