Cribs Era
Thinking back to 2007-2009, I can’t help but be pulled into a wave of nostalgia. That year was filled with carefree nights, laughter, and that electric energy of being young and in the moment. My playlist from that time, which I called "Cribs Era," perfectly captures the vibe of those days—those wild nights spent at the Nevada Cribs in Baguio City with friends, endless parties, and moments of blissful chaos.
This playlist was more than just a set of songs; it was a soundtrack to our experiences, encapsulating that unique combination of infatuation, fun, and rebellion. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of the tracks that defined those unforgettable days.
Infatuated – Memphis Bleek
This song was on repeat, setting the mood with its laid-back but intense vibe. "Infatuated" by Memphis Bleek was one of those tracks that perfectly captured the feeling of a fleeting crush—a little obsession mixed with excitement and a touch of mystery. Every time this track played, it felt like a reminder of the thrill of new connections. We were all a little infatuated with life, with each other, and with the possibilities that seemed endless.
Pretty Ricky – Your Body & Hotline
Pretty Ricky knew how to bring the heat, and both “Your Body” and “Hotline” were absolute must-haves on the playlist. "Your Body" had that smooth, sensual vibe that brought everyone closer, and it was almost like the unofficial anthem of our nights out. Then there was "Hotline"—a song that, no matter how many times we heard it, still made us feel like we were in our own music video. These tracks had that perfect combination of R&B and hip-hop that fit the nighttime vibe of Baguio’s Nevada Cribs.
Cortez Shoes – Lil Rob
“Cortez Shoes” by Lil Rob was pure West Coast vibes, bringing a sense of chill and style. It was the kind of song we’d blast in the car while cruising around town, letting the lyrics resonate with our rebellious spirits. Lil Rob’s smooth delivery and relaxed beat were perfect for those late-night drives after the parties, the cool Baguio air and fog making it feel like a scene out of a movie.
Summertime in the LBC & Summer Nights – Lil Rob
Summer felt eternal with songs like these. Both “Summertime in the LBC” and “Summer Nights” were on constant replay, giving us that nostalgic, feel-good energy. Lil Rob’s “Summer Nights” in particular just hit different, especially in Baguio’s cool evenings. These songs became our go-to tracks during weekends, taking us to a place where all we cared about was enjoying the moment with our closest friends, where time slowed down just for us.
Akon Vibes
Akon’s music had this unique ability to make any setting feel like a party. Whether it was “Don’t Matter,” “Smack That,” or “I Wanna Love You,” Akon’s hits were essential for keeping the energy alive and the fun going. His songs felt like freedom, like letting go of worries and just getting lost in the music. They brought out that playful, no-care attitude in all of us, the kind that only comes from being surrounded by good people and good vibes.
Tupac & Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Classics
Of course, it wouldn’t be a true "Cribs Era" playlist without some Tupac and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony tracks. These artists added depth to the playlist, with songs that were raw, real, and honest. Tupac’s poetic lyrics and Bone Thugs’ haunting harmonies brought a reflective vibe to the night, grounding us in a way. Tracks like “Thugz Mansion” and “Crossroads” reminded us of life’s ups and downs and kept us connected to something more meaningful even amidst the fun and chaos.

Nevada Cribs, Baguio City
Baguio’s Nevada Cribs was our little slice of freedom. The playlist was the perfect backdrop to those wild nights—unfiltered, unapologetic, and full of life.
From love and infatuation to reflection and rebellion, these songs told the story of our 2009. Looking back, I realize that music helped shape those experiences, gave us something to hold onto, and helped us make sense of the good times and the drama. Every time I listen to these tracks now, I’m transported back to those nights, to the laughter, the chaos, and the freedom we felt.
This Cribs playlist will always remind me of who we were back then—young, bold, and unafraid to live out loud. Those were nights of learning and growing, of infatuations and wild decisions, and of friendships that, even if they’ve faded, will forever hold a special place in my heart.
